Strange words keep coming from the mouth of Florida coach Urban Meyer. Recently, he called his team a "train wreck," now he's admitted to creating his own bulletin board material to fire up the Gators before the BCS title game. When asked by Adam Mertz of The Capital Times (Madison, WI) about the quotes supposedly degrading Florida before January's championship game against Ohio State: "Half of them were made up," Meyer said, chuckling. "All you do is stick (ESPN's) 'Kirk Herbstreit' at the end of it and players will buy into it."Or at least they would have before, but probably not so much in the future knowing their coach is just making this stuff up. I'm pretty sure all coaches exaggerate to some extent, disrespect is a great motivator and everybody wants to be the underdog. What I don't understand is why Meyer would admit to it when he just might need to use the same ploy in the future.
Might want to play your cards a little closer to the vest there, coach.

If you have played you know what is said on the line before a play....if you are affected by hearing stuff about your mother than you stuff the coach puts on the board works too. After the game is over you forget both what you heard and what you read...Go Gamecocks

I AM SURPRISED THAT COACHS ACTUALLY THINK A PLAYER CAN BE MOTIVATED BY BULLETIN BOARD STUFF. "GEE, THEY SAID THAT ABOUT US, NOW I AM REALLY GOING TO PLAY HARD" WHAT CRAP.

If a negative Kirk Herbstreit quote truly motivated a team, Nebraska would have won both the NCAA championship and the Super Bowl.

Pride plays a big part in any sport but the pride of a football player is probably the most intense.
