Joe McKnight is considered the nation's top recruit according to several publications. He's also a Louisiana boy who reminds people of Reggie Bush. McKnight should commit to homestate LSU, right? That's how the bees and honey thinking goes.
Except that bee liked the honey out in California and just announced his commitment to USC this morning.
Ass evidenced by the posts on the
TigerBait.com LSU message board below, LSU fans are not happy. Let's call him the heartbreaker.

He would've went to Ole Miss before LSU anyway. Hotty Toddy!

Les Miles took over a great LSU football program, but he has failed to win a SEC title or seriously contend for a national championship. He let his best assistants and the best HS recruit (McKnight) leave the state for other schools.
In the big games (Florida, Auburn, Tennessee), Miles looks like a deer in the headlights. Don't be surprised when LSU goes 9-3 this year and 8-4 next year.

Look at the circumstances. Can yo blame him? River Ridge is an outskirt of New Orleans which is still recovering from Katrina. I would want to get the hell outta here too. Maybe Baton Rouge is not far enough being only an hour and a half away. Wait until that first earthquake experience and he'll be back.

Fast Eddie, Mcknights' girlfriend is enrolled at USC. They both want a good education(USC)and Joe wants to play for a winner. USC is going to be in the running for the BCS every year Pete Carroll is at the helm.
Mcknight made the right choice. USC has 10 All-American RB's, that will bring out the best in Mcknight. Besides, Cal is the richest state and has the best weather. Come on! That kid is another Reggie Bush. There's nothing there in LA for most kids. Whether he plays SEC or Pac-10, he's going to a great player.
