Jevan Snead has decided where he's transferring to: Ole Miss, which is an odd choice for a heavily hyped recruit from Texas. Evidently options were thin on the ground for Snead, who was also considering Houston and TCU, two teams who you will note do not play in a BCS conference. Does the Big 12 have a no-intra-conference transfer rule like the Big Ten? They must, because I can name about eight Big 12 schools who would greatly benefit from Snead's services. Instead, he's headed to the den of the craziest coach in all the land (saying something when Mike Leach is HYYAARRRRR employed), where he'll redshirt and have three years of eligibility.
Meanwhile, Texas has been left in the lurch by Snead's decision to transfer NOW NOW NOW. With Colt McCoy's shoulder still questionable, the only other quarterback on the roster who can play against Iowa is fifth-year senior walkon Matt McCoy (Texas has announced it won't take off freshman Sherrod Harris' redshirt). Receiver Quan Cosby is the other option. The Alamo Bowl might be a more interesting game than it appears to be at first glance.
Also, Burnt Orange Nation speculates that Floridian John Brantley, a highly touted quarterback recruit himself, may not be too sure of his Texas verbal anymore, though his speculated destination, Florida, hardly makes any more sense with Tim Tebow the toast of jorts-wearing Gators across the south.

Odd Choice? You've obviously never been to Oxford.

I'll bite. The Big XII actually looks pretty good for returning QBs next season. Outside of Baylor and Oklahoma, I think that just about everybody is set.

The Big 10 has a no transfer rule?
How did LB John Kerr go from Indiana to Ohio State?

You can transfer, but you can't accept any scholarship money. Kerr was paying his own way. PSU defensive end BLANK Rogers (forget the first name) is doing the same after transferring from Michigan.

Don't hate Texas fans that we(Ole Miss) got Jevan Snead. Plus tou lost Brantley that's your problem. You's best get to work with your recruiting a QB.
